The Carbon County Board of Commissioners today announced the retirement of Earl L. Henning of Mahoning Township as Director of Veterans Affairs, investigator for Weatherwood and Sealer of Weights, effective May 1.

Henning thanked the commissioners for the opportunity to serve the residents of Carbon County for the last 22 years.

Named to succeed him was Wayne D. Hunsicker of Lehighton.

Hunsicker worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 30 years before retiring in 1985. He is presently serving as chief of police in Weissport and served in the Army’s 40th Infantry Division in Korea before being discharged in 1955.
