A business was damaged after it was burned by fire along Route 209 in Lehighton Monday afternoon.
The fire broke out just before 3 p.m. at Xtreme Auto Tints, 6875 Interchange Road, according to Towamensing Township Assistant Fire Chief Bob O’Donnell. U-Haul trucks are also rented at that location.
O’Donnell said there were no injuries, as he didn’t believe anyone was inside at the time of the fire.
He said the business suffered severe damage to the roof, the entryway, and the inside structure.
O’Donnell said there is no determination as to what started the fire, though he added he believes it may have been started by a lawn mower.
He said it was a quick knockdown, and that firefighters were on scene for about 90 minutes.
The Franklin Township Fire Department and Aquashicola Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
“I think it was a great response, quick knockdown,” O’Donnell said. “All the guys did great, and we want to thank the assistant companies.”
Contacted this morning, the business said the owner was very grateful, and would like to thank everyone who pulled through, including strangers who stopped by, customers, as well as the firefighters, for their help.
