Zion’s United Church of Christ, Lewistown Valley, celebrated its 100th anniversary on Sunday by placing a “Time Capsule” in the cornerstone of the church.

The guest minister at the morning service was Dr. John C. Shetler, conference minister, Pennsylvania Southern Conference. Other participants were the Rev. John R. Gulick, pastor emeritus, and the Rev. Dale M. Shellhammer, pastor.

Following the service, members of the congregation presented items to be placed in the time capsule. The presenters included Daniel Leiby, Roscoe Bensinger, Gulick, Shellhammer, Dr. Shetler, Grace Ann Gerber, Leslie Koch, Kathy McGee and Bertram Leiby.
