Chestnuthill Township supervisors last week:
• Emergency services reported 518 calls in 2020, and from January 2021 until March, the services responded to 112 calls.
• A motion was made to hire Steve Serfass, who previously interviewed for the opening of a class 2 position. His hourly wage is $26.76.
• A motion was made to increase employee Nick Schoch’s hourly wage from $16 to $22. Although it was a significant raise, township manager David Albright said it is well-deserved. During the pandemic, Schoch worked beyond his regular duties and continues to help out wherever needed, according to the township manager. His title is still assistant recycling, composting, build and coordinator, but along with his regular hours on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday at the recycling operation, Schoch has taken on overseeing the recycling operations during the days that the manager works on maintenance.
• A motion was made to make a $1,000 donation to the Monroe County Youth Field Day.
