Mr. and Mrs. Bob Missmer of Lake Hauto will be honored by the Panther Valley Chamber of Commerce for their years of dedicated service to the chamber and the community.

The couple moved to this Nesquehoning suburb from the Lehigh Valley area in 1971 and immediately became active in the chamber, where, in January 1973, Bob was named executive director. He later became the full-time director of the Miss Panther Valley Pageant, now known as the Miss Pocono Pageant.

The Missmers were instrumental in the formation of the Panther Valley Visiting Nurses Association, the 911 Emergency System and the Route 93 (Broad Mountain) hill runoff.
