The Rev. Lester E. Stephenson Jr., pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Street, Jim Thorpe, was honored Sunday at a testimonial dinner by members of the congregation.

More than 200 parishioners and guests attended in honor of the popular clergyman, who recently accepted a call by the Scranton congregation of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Guest speakers were the Revs. William J. Leifield, pastor emeritus of St. John’s who preceded Rev. Stephenson before retiring from active ministry; and Charles W. Kampmeyer, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, South Avenue, Jim Thorpe. Robert Eckhart, church council vice president, was the master of ceremonies.
