Palmerton’s softball team rolled past Southern Lehigh in action on Thursday.

Also picking up a win was Northwestern’s boys lacrosse team.

Palmerton cruised to a 14-3 Colonial League victory over Southern Lehigh.

After the Blue Bombers erupted for five first-inning runs, Megan Green drilled a two-run home run in the second inning to extend the advantage.

Green also added a single, while teammates Emily Baumgardt, Carly Gaffney and Megan Matsko all contributed multiple hits. Carly Gaffney finished with a three-hitter to earn the win from the circle.

Palmerton, who secured the victory with a six-run sixth frame, improved its record to 2-0.

An 11-run third inning propelled Southern Lehigh to an 18-2 Colonial League victory over Palmerton.

Brock Bollinger accounted for the Bombers’ scoring with a two-run double, while Randan Solt added a hit, a stolen base, and a run scored.

Christian Pickell led the Spartans with two doubles, a single, three runs scored and four RBIs, while Will Woodring added a single, two runs scored and four RBIs.

The loss dropped Palmerton’s record to 1-1.

The loss dropped Lehighton to 2-2.

Drew Sabo’s four goals and four assists highlighted Northwestern’s 16-2 victory over Northampton.

Kane Flickinger added four goals for the Tigers (3-0), while Cade Christopher registered three goals and two assists.

Also contributing to the victory were Austin Sosnovik (two goals, three assists), Blaine Snyder (one goal, two assists) and Noah Smargiassi (two goals).

GIRLS LACROSSE

Northwestern-Northampton

Northampton edged Northwestern by a 4-3 score.

The loss dropped the Tigers to 1-2.
