State police at Frackville report on crashes

State police at Frackville reported investigating two crashes on March 24 and a third on March 26 along Schuylkill County roadways.

• A crash occurred at 12:12 p.m. along Route 209 in Blythe Township. Troopers said Christine M. Kreiser, 24, of Minersville, was southbound driving a 2007 Toyota when she lost control due to wet road conditions while attempting to negotiate a left curve. Her vehicle struck a parked 2019 Bri-Mar trailer on the right berm. Kreiser sustained a minor injury but refused transport to a hospital. The Toyota was towed.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 2:05 p.m. along Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Robert W. Merritt, 62, of Harrisburg, was driving a 2020 Subaru Legacy southbound when he lost control. The vehicle spun in a circle, leaving the road, hitting in a ditch and going back onto the shoulder of the road. Road conditions were wet at the time, troopers said.

Merritt was not injured but the vehicle was towed.

• The March 26 crash occurred at 4:05 p.m. along East Main Street in Girardville. Troopers said William S. Walter, 44, of Frackville, was driving a 2000 Toyota Camry westbound when the sun caused a glare for him. His vehicle left the travel lane and struck a parked 2011 Ford F-150 XLT truck which was pushed into a parked, 2001 Buick Regal.

No injuries were reported. The Ford and Buick were towed and Walter was cited for the crash.
