Two former Tamaqua residents, a brother and sister, have been named “Outstanding Young Educator” by the faculties of their respective schools.
Frank Jane Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kane, 416 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, has been named the “Outstanding Young Educator” in the Pennsburg Middle School. His sister, Joanne Castagnera, accepted the same honor this year from the faculty of the Margarete Raub Elementary School, Berea, Ohio.
Both young teachers are graduates of St. Jerome’s Elementary School, Tamaqua, Marian High School, Hometown, and Millersville State College.
Frank and Joanne are working toward their master’s degrees at Kutztown State College and Cleveland State University, respectively.
