Tamaqua Chamber seeking annual award nominations

The Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its annual Citizen and Business Person of the Year awards.

The awards will be presented at the 57th Annual Chamber Dinner, which is scheduled for Sept. 23.

The Citizen of the Year award is open to individuals of the Tamaqua Area School District who are 18 years of age or more. Nominees must volunteer their contribution to the civic advancement of Tamaqua and the well-being of its residents. Paid work is not considered.

The award is given to a person living at the time of the selection. If a nominee passes before the award, he or she will be considered for a special award.

The Business Person of the Year award is open to all business owners and professionals of the Tamaqua Area School District who are 18 years of age or more.

The nominee must be affiliated with a business in good standing (dues paid for 2021) with the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce.

Awards are determined by a selection committee, which reviews nominations submitted by various fraternal, social, religious or civic organizations and individual residents of the area.

Nominations in the form of signed letters or emails will be accepted and should include information on the individual and their business accomplishments.

Nomination forms can be found at www.tamaqua.net or by emailing chamber@tamaqua.net.

Nomination letters are to be mailed to the citizenship Award Committee, Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 54, Tamaqua, PA, 18252, or to Chamber@tamaqua.net.

The deadline for nominations is April 30.
