Lansford Police caught a fugitive from Easton Monday night in a standoff on the 300 block of East Bertsch Street in the borough.

Several departments were involved in the high risk search for Rodney Rivers, who was reported to be heavily armed.

Rivers, who was taken into custody without incident, was wanted by Easton Police for robbery, aggravated assault and related charges.

On scene were The Pennsylvania State Police Special Response Team, the Nesquehoning Police, the Summit Hill Police, Carbon EMA 1, various Fire Police, Lehighton Ambulance, the Lansford Fire Department, the Office of the District Attorney, and Carbon County Communications.
