Pocono Mountain Regional police are investigating a act of animal cruelty discovered at 11:28 a.m. March 26.

Officers were dispatched to a wooded area off Country Place Drive in A Pocono Country Place, Coolbaugh Township, after a garbage bag containing a dead pit bull and puppies were found in the wooded area. Police said it is unknown how long the dogs had been there and there were no houses in the area where the bag was located.

Anyone with information about the dogs is asked to call police at 570-895-2400.
