State police at Fern Ridge reported on two traffic stops which resulted in driving under the influence charges.
• A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following an incident at 7:36 p.m. March 16.
State police at Fern Ridge conducted a traffic stop of a 2003 Dodge Intrepid along Route 903 at Church Road in Penn Forest Township. The driver, Sean Maiden, 45, of Jim Thorpe, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was taken into custody for DUI.
• At 9 p.m. that day troopers conducted a traffic stop along Route 115 at Winter Lane, in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County. During the stop the operator was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and refused testing. A front seat passenger was found to have an active warrant. Due to indicators of criminal activity the vehicle was seized and a search warrant was obtained. As a result of the search warrant both were found to be in possession of multiple controlled substances and related drug paraphernalia.
A 39-year-old man from Albrightsville, and a 19-year-old man from Saylorsburg were charged. Troopers did not release their names.
