Walnutport Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:
• Accepted resignation from part-time police officer Michael Eckman.
• Accepted Shirley Chimich’s retirement from the zoning hearing board.
• Appointed Matt Newhard to fill a vacancy on the zoning hearing board.
• Agreed to solicit bids for the borough’s 2021 street projects, to be funded out of liquid fuels and not the general budget.
• Agreed to increase some of the zoning permits, and increase the fees associated with appealing permits to the zoning board. Residential will increase to $1,000, and nonresidential to $1,200.
• Approved a flat $30 late fee for business licenses that are not paid before the fiscal year. Those who are late must now pay a flat $30 late fee.
• Approved a resolution for the annual franchise agreement between Blue Ridge Cable Company and the borough.
• Adopted a resolution for workers’ compensation for Diamond Fire Company volunteers.
