March 15, 2007 - Northern Lehigh graduate and Drexel University junior Ryan Hluschak wins his first two matches at the NCAA wrestling championships in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Hluschak, a high school state champion with the Bulldogs and three-time state qualifier, opens the NCAAs with a 19-12 victory over Virginia Tech’s Jonny Bonilla-Bowman in the pigtail round. The 157-pounder then grinds out a 3-1 decision win over Iowa’s Ryan Morningstore. Hluschak follows that with a near upset of top-seeded Trent Paulson of Iowa State, leading 7-6 before losing by a 12-7 score.
