2 charged after threat with knife

Two Schuylkill County residents were charged on Wednesday following an assault involving a knife.

State police at Frackville said troopers were dispatched to N. Williams Street, in Girardville, at 12:31 p.m. for a report of an attempted assault with a knife.

On scene Edward Brown, 58, of Doylestown, Bucks County, said that Edward Conapitski, 22, of Girardville, attacked him with a knife. He said Conapitski was yelling at him while holding a knife in his hand. Conapitski fled prior to the arrival of troopers.

While on scene troopers ran a check of Brown and learned he had multiple warrants for his arrest. While attempting to take him into custody he became combative and swung a closed fist at one of the troopers. He had to be physically restrained.

Troopers also located Conapitski and took him into custody. Conapitski is facing charges of aggravated and simple assault. Brown is facing a resisting arrest charge.
