ESU sports management programs receives accreditation from COSMA

East Stroudsburg University has been granted accreditation for its sports management programs from the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation.

COSMA is a specialized accrediting body whose purpose is to promote and recognize excellence in sport management education worldwide in colleges and universities at the baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral levels through specialized accreditation.

The organization granted accreditation to ESU’s Bachelor of Science in sport management, master of science in sport management and Master of Science in management and leadership with a concentration in sport management.

As of February, only 34 universities have COSMA accredited programs.

The sport management program at ESU became a member of COSMA in 2016, and all three programs were granted accreditation candidacy status in 2018.

Since that time, ESU has inducted 54 undergraduate and 31 graduate students into Chi Sigma Mu, COSMA’s student honor society.
