The Jim Thorpe Independent Film Festival is returning to the Mauch Chunk Opera House, April 22-25.
Inn the rebellious spirit of the Molly Maguires, the festival invites the boldest, most defiant filmmakers to screen their work, shatter convention, and inspire spirited debate.
The festival will have live, in-person screening of new cutting-edge films from around the globe, of every genre and description, including a slew of US and Pennsylvania premieres.
On Saturday at Midnight, the continue our controversial Grindhouse program, a twisted mix of over-the-top films that not only push the envelope, but rip it to shreds.
The 2018 Grindhouse winner, Jeffrey Garcia, will be returning from Texas with his first feature-length opus.
*No one under 18 will be admitted for the Grindhouse program.
Selected films, opening and closing night features and socially distant after-parties will be announced in coming weeks.
This year’s live, in-person event, we will be following CDC Guidelines for COVID-19 prevention and will maintain established protocols to keep all festival goers safe including mandatory masks, social distancing and 50% seating capacity the Mauch Chunk Opera House.
