A McAdoo woman is facing charges of driving under the influence with a child in the car.
State police at Schuylkill Haven responded to the 400 block of Kennedy Drive in McAdoo Jan. 25 for a vehicle crash where the driver, Chire Monsegut, appeared to be intoxicated.
Upon arrival, police found her in the ambulance with an 18-month-old child.
Police said Monsegut had “glassy, bloodshot eyes” and smelled of alcohol. Monsegut was uncooperative with police and began to yell and swear when interviewed. A trooper helped her out of ambulance because she was unable to get out safely. Police said she resisted arrest while being taken into custody. She was taken to Lehigh Valley-East Norwegian Street for a blood test which she refused.
She faces charges of DUI, resisting arrest, disregarding a traffic lane and disorderly conduct. A preliminary hearing is set for 10:45 a.m. March 23 in Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer’s courtroom.
