The pedestrian who was killed after being hit by a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation plow truck in Monroe County has been identified.
Monroe County Coroner Tom Yanac said the victim in Friday’s fatal crash is Botasha Torres, 36, of Tobyhanna.
Officers from the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department were dispatched at 7:18 p.m. to Route 940 and Sir Bradford Road for a motor vehicle crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
According to a release from Chief Chris Wagner, officers arrived on scene and discovered a PennDOT vehicle struck a pedestrian.
Torres was pronounced deceased on scene.
PennDOT officials have not released a comment.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
There are no charges pending against the driver, according to Pocono Mountain Regional Police.
