Palmerton Area School District’s board of directors on Tuesday night approved the following:

*A three-year contract with Gorman and Associates P.C. for audit services for $21,500.

*A memorandum of understandings with the Palmerton Area Education Association, Palmerton Area Education Support Association, confidential secretaries, Act 93 personnel, superintendent and business manager regarding the Families First Coronavirus Response Act extension for paid sick leave, because of COVID-19.

• Clarification of terms for Lisa Failla, Spanish teacher at an annual salary of $51,500.

• Bobbie Jo Knott as substitute cafeteria employee at the rate of $10 per hour effective Feb. 17.

• Jessica Hansen as a substitute teacher, instructional assistant, and secretary at the applicable rate effective Feb. 17.

• Retirement of Pamela Wuest, high school math teacher, at the end of the 2020-21 school year.

• Resignation of Michele Kovacs as cafeteria worker effective Feb. 16.

• The first reading of policies dealing with board policy/procedure/administrative regulations, functions, attendance at meetings via electronic communications, policy process, and school board use of electronic mail.

• The donation of sandpaper from Palmerton Lumber Co. to be used in the high school’s wood shop.

• The anticipated graduation date of June 7, for the Palmerton Area Senior High School Class of 2021, with a rain date of June 8.
