Kaylee Gilbert of Coaldale recently announced that she will continue her academic and athletic careers at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI.

A four-year varsity letterwinner in soccer at Pottsville Nativity High School, Gilbert will also play soccer for the Division 3 Vikings.

An attacking midfielder, Gilbert had nine goals and 24 assists in her career at Nativity.

Gilbert, who also played softball for the Green Wave, is a member of the National Honor Society. She won the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Award and was also an ACS Generation Next Award winner. Gilbert serves as a volunteer firefighter and has also volunteered for the Zoostock American Cancer Society fund-raiser.

The daughter of Jason and Leslie Gilbert, Kaylee plans to major in creative writing at Lawrence.
