The names of two Carbon County men were submitted by Rep. Francis E. Walter to Postmaster General James Day for the position of acting postmasters locally.
They are Norman E. Serena, Ludlow Street, Summit Hill, and Allen Gombert Jr., Parryville.
Serena, a nephew of James “Tab” Castagnera of town, is presently employed as an insurance agent. The position of acting postmaster in Summit Hill is now being held by Earl Henninger, who received this appointment when Michael McFadden retired.
Mrs. Charles Wentz is the acting postmistress in Parryville. This temporary appointment was made last fall when Mrs. Violet Arner resigned.
