Worship with Holy Communion and Farewell to the Alleluias at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 9:30 a.m. The bread wafer and communion container are presealed as a safe way to celebrate the sacrament. Reservations must be made before the close of office hours Thursday. Enter the doors on Iron Street. No-touch forehead temperature will be completed. Masks covering the nose and mouth must be worn throughout the entirety of the worship service. There will be no singing. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Joshua Krenz assists.

Livestream audio is available at tlclehighton.com. Video with audio rebroadcasts are available on the Facebook page later on Sunday mornings. A Bible story according to the liturgical season and text is available weekly on Facebook, geared for children while Sunday church school is paused. In-person classes for confirmation students in seventh and eighth grades will resume weekly in Luther Hall starting at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 21, with social distance and face mask guidelines.
In the event of inclement weather which may lead to cancellations, look on the listings on BRC TV13, WFMZ-TV Channel 69 TV, website or Facebook page, as well as Trinity’s Facebook page. In addition, a message will be recorded on the church phone within two hours of the worship time.
The season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on Feb. 17. Choice of worship with Holy Communion and imposition of ashes on the forehead in safe manner is at noon and 7 p.m. Deadline to register for attending either worship time is 4 p.m. Feb. 15.
Midweek Lenten worship with the theme of devotions “Come and See!” will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 24-March 24. There will be no soup suppers preceding the 7 p.m. worship services. RSVP is required for each midweek worship session.
The Thrift Store shopping and donation drop-offs are by appointment only. Please call 610-377-4471 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays to schedule an appointment for Thursday drop-off of donations. Thrift Store hours are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1-6 p.m. Fridays by appointment. Masks and social distancing are required. Due to limited space, no children under the age of 12 will be allowed. All sales receipts support the food pantry. Hours may be adjusted according to weather conditions.
The food pantry continues to be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting and precautionary measures in place. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items.
Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.
