Marian and Palmerton both posted boys basketball wins on Saturday.
The Colts defeated Shenandoah Valley to run their winning streak to eight games. The Blue Bombers downed Pen Argyl for their third straight victory.
Tamaqua also swept Jim Thorpe in a wrestling doubleheader.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Marian-Shenandoah Valley
Marian won its third game in as many days, gaining a 54-40 Schuylkill League victory over Shenandoah Valley.
Dewin Concepcion and Dante Agosti both scored eight points in the first half as the Colts (9-1; 7-1) jumped out to a 28-13 advantage.
Concepcion finished with a team-high 13 points, pulled down nine rebounds and also had five steals. Marian, who has now won eight games in a row, also received 12 points from Frank Valente and 10 from Brendan Lonergan.
The Devils were led by Owen Kosar’s game-high 19 points.

Palmerton pulled away from Pen Argyl in the second half to gain a 56-37 Colonial League victory.
Seven different Blue Bombers scored in the third quarter to turn a four-point halftime lead into a 44-28 advantage.
Kody Kratzer finished with a game-high 25 points for the winners, who have won three in a row. Palmerton (5-4; 5-2) also received eight points from Owen Buck.
For the Green Knights, Lucas Bettancourt tallied a team-high 15 points.

Blue Mountain used a big second quarter to take control, and the Eagles pulled away for a 74-53 Schuylkill League victory over Lehighton.
Kade Henninger buried five three-pointers in the second frame as the winners outscored the Indians by a 17-3 margin.
Henninger finished with 25 points, as did teammate Bryce Hensley.
Lehighton (5-6; 5-4) received a team-high 21 points from Richard Yturrino, while Jack Lorenz chipped in with eight.
In the JV game, Blue Mountain gained a 54-34 win.

The Panthers trailed by just one point entering the final period, but Flynn and his teammates used a 24-14 frame to pull away for the win.
Chase Weaver finished with 15 points to lead PV, now 4-9 overall and 2-8 in the league, while Mike Pascoe contributed 13.

Shea Hossler accounted for most of that free throw success, hitting 14-of-15 in the final frame and finishing with a game-high 28 points.
The Miners (5-2; 4-1) also received 17 points from Abigail Adams.
Ashley Pleban scored a team-high 16 points for the Fillies (1-4; 1-3), while Jacalyn Possessky and Carly Minchoff both contributed 11.

Northern Lehigh held a halftime lead, but Palisades rallied to gain a 50-44 Colonial League victory.
Aubrey Pollard led the Bulldogs with 14 points, while Emma Niebell added 13 points and four assists. Nolehi, which had assists on 13 of its 18 field goals, also received 10 points from Madison Seier.
The Pirates, who used a 21-point third quarter to take control of the game, received a game-high 22 points from Trinity Williams.
The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 1-3.

The Olympians, who only trailed by five at halftime, received a team-high 11 points from Skyler Searfoss. Leah Hurley and Leila Snisky both finished with seven points for Thorpe (11-3).

Tamaqua swept a Schuylkill League doubleheader against Jim Thorpe, winning by scores of 48-12 and 48-10.
The Blue Raiders received pins in both matches from Jacob Schlier (138 pounds), Aaron Coccio (145), Reese Szabo (160) and Nate Wickersham (215).
Other falls were registered by Cole Eberts and John Buday.
For the Olympians, Gabe Heaney posted two wins on the mat - one via a pin.

Blake Roberts collected 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead Lehighton to a 50-26 win over Weatherly.
The Indians also received 14 points and five assists from Cole Dietz, while the Wreckers were led by Ian McKeegan’s nine points.

Northwestern gained a 38-17 victory over Lehighton.
The Tigers were paced by Fitzgerald, who tallied six points.
