A snow pile on East Bertsch Street in Lansford got a decorative upgrade Tuesday courtesy of 5-year-old Koltin Moser.
Moser added some color to the pile and etched his name in the snow, bringing a bit of joy to those who stopped to take a look.
“I feel through this whole pandemic it’s been very important for us to get outside with all the kids and enjoy nature in our own backyards,” Koltin’s mother, Kara, said. “Since day one we have tried to keep active hike different areas, touring different local waterfalls and paths throughout Pennsylvania or just walking around our local reservoirs. In a way it’s been nice to slow down and enjoy us as a family of not having to run here or there.”
Since the snow pile seemed like it would be around for at least a few days, the family decided to have some fun.
Koltin’s favorite part, he said, was squirting the colors all over the snow like an artist throwing paint on a canvas.
“He was super surprised and excited about the amount we received and couldn’t wait to get outside to help shovel,” Kara said.
People stopped throughout the day, she added, to take pictures and admire his creation.
“Although it’s been a challenge to find things to do,” she said, “it has also has inspired us to be creative and carefree and just enjoy all the little things we take for granted.”
