A Carbon County resident is the victim of fraud.

State police at Bethlehem said a 23-year-old woman from Lehighton reported she received a phone call from a man saying he was from the sheriff’s office. The man told the victim she needed to send $450 in Target gift cards by phone to get rid of an active warrant. The woman sent the gift cards. The call was found to be fraudulent.
