Palmerton Borough Council took the following action last week:

• Agreed to offer employment to Shane Anthony for a public works position to start at 70% of the full rate of $22.71.

• Agreed to advertise for a mechanic.

• Approved the volunteer tax credit eligibility list for the Palmerton Municipal Fire Company. Those who meet the minimum requirements include Dennis Behler, Jason Behler, Kyle Behler, Frank Haas, Mike Rauch, Brian Rehrig and Greg Vlossak. Councilwoman Holly Hausman Sell abstained.

• Approved the Palmerton Municipal Fire Company membership list. Hausman-Sell abstained from the vote.

• Approved several use requests. Councilman Kris Hoffner abstained from the Raising the House event.

• Approved a resolution to have Berkheimer collect delinquent per capita taxes from 2020 in the amount of $6,188, and approved the exoneration list supplied by tax collector Lisa Nemeth for $350 of 2020 per capita taxes.

• Approved the renewal of the snowplow cooperation agreement with Lower Towamensing Township.

• Approved the renewal of the Palmerton Memorial Park Association lease.

• Appointed Dennis Behler, Donna McGarry and Bernie Shea to the Pennsylvania Municipal Fire Department Team board of directors.
