The Jim Thorpe Lions Club offers our sincerest thanks to all the individuals and organizations who contributed to the success of the Christmas lights project on the A.J. Baddick bridge.
Special kudos to Shawn Kresge Electric who supplied the materials for the electrical work and hung the decorations free of charge (estimated cost $3,150). Shawn was assisted by Councilman Mike Yeastedt and fellow Lion Jim Trainer.
Likewise, thank you to the many local businesses that generously contributed financially to projects: United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley ($1,200 Community Grant); the Jim Thorpe Neighborhood Bank; American Legion Post 304; Beers Tooling & Machinery Inc.; Fairview Hose Co. Social Club; Molly Maguires Pub & Steakhouse, Darren and Mark Behan; Mason Cold Beer/Realty Co.; Jim Thorpe Rotary Club; Diligent Fire Co. No. 3; Inn at Jim Thorpe, David Drury; Nature’s Trail, Anne Marie Fitzpatrick; Wildoner Insurance Agency, Charles Wildoner; Jane Engler, Esq.; Mauch Chunk Chimney Sweeps, Kevin McArdle; Anthony Roberti, Esq. & Kim Roberti, Esq.; Printing 4U (Lehighton); Marion Hose Bar, Andrew Roberts; and Tommy’s Subs.
Other members of the community generously contributed financially (they will remain anonymous for privacy reasons) and we genuinely appreciate their support.
Thank you to the Jim Thorpe Borough Council and Borough Manager Maureen Sterner for their approval of and assistance with the project.
Finally, the Christmas lights project would not have been possible without the dedication and time invested by Lions members Jim Trainer, Jolene Evans and Carbon County Treasurer, Ron Sheehan.
Sincerely,
Clem McGinley, MD
