9 to 12 inches of snow possible Sunday-Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for heavy snow.

Total snow accumulations of 9 to 12 inches possible are possible throughout the region.

Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Here is the latest forecast:

Tonight: Increasing clouds, with a low around 14. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Sunday: A chance of snow, mainly after 2 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 23. East wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Sunday Night: Snow. Low around 20. East wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Monday: Snow. High near 29. Northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Monday Night: Snow likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tuesday: A chance of snow, mainly before 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 33.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 20.
