Jim Thorpe registered wins in both boys and girls basketball action on Thursday.
The Olympian boys rolled past Tamaqua, while the girls crushed Pine Grove.
In other action, the Pleasant Valley girls earned their first win of the season, while the Tamaqua swim teams swept Mahanoy Area.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Tamaqua-Jim Thorpe
Jim Thorpe cruised to its fifth straight win, posting a 51-24 Schuylkill League victory over Tamaqua.
Caiden Hurley scored a team-high 11 points for the Olympians, who led by 19 at halftime.
Thorpe (5-4; 3-3) also received 10 points from Jared Marykwas, while Kaiden Herron chipped in with nine.
Nate Gregoire tallied a game-high 15 points for the Blue Raiders (0-10; 0-6). Luke Verta added seven points.

Pleasant Valley nearly had its first win of the season, but ended up dropping a 58-56 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference decision to East Stroudsburg South.
Joel Contreras scored a game-high 18 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Bears dropped to 0-5.
PV also received 13 points from Jarod Moore and 11 from Leland Hargrow.
For the Cavaliers, Jasir Parker tallied a team-high 16 points.

Jim Thorpe remained undefeated in league play as the Olympians cruised to a 66-30 Schuylkill League win over Pine Grove.
Four players scored in double figures for the winners, led by Olivia Smelas, who finished with 16 points.
Thorpe (9-2; 7-0) also received 15 points from Leila Hurley and 14 from both Skyler Searfoss and Leah Snisky.
Mikaili Donmoyer and Bailley Dorson each scored a team-high eight points for the Cardinals (5-6; 1-6).

Ella Muir scored eight of her game-high 14 points in the fourth quarter to help Pleasant Valley gain its first win of the season, a 42-32 decision over East Stroudsburg South.
The Bears (1-4) held a slim two-point advantage heading into the final frame but pulled away for the victory.
Samantha Merklin contributed 13 points to the win, while Maryam Mattson added 10.
The Cavaliers (0-3) received a team-high 12 points from Layla Hernandez.

Tamaqua gained a Schuylkill League sweep against Mahanoy Area.
The Blue Raider girls edged the Golden Bears, 87-82, while the boys cruised to an 85-26 victory.
Nathaniel Kovalchick was the only individual for Tamaqua with multiple wins, as he took the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly.
Other winners for the Blue Raiders included Ethan Amershek (50 free), Stephe Buhan (100 free), Joey Lescavage (500 free), Nicole Aguero-Ramirez (200 free) and Gabby Blasko (500 free).
