Woman charged during drug bust
A Lehighton woman faces charges following a drug bust.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by patrolman Gabe Szozda of the Lehighton Borough Police Department in the case against Alison Serfass:
On May 20, in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration and Palmerton Police Department, Szozda learned that Serfass, 35, and Kenneth Bollinger were distributing narcotics in the Lehighton area.
A controlled buy was set up with the suspects, who were staying at the Mahoning Inn in Lehighton.
They agreed to be at the Sunoco.
Bollinger entered the gas station and came out with a candy bar. Seconds later, Bollinger acknowledged the undercover vehicle and walked toward it. Agents wearing police markings approached Bollinger, but as soon as he noticed them, he began to flee the area.
While fleeing to the adjacent Exxon gas station, Bollinger dropped his candy bar and threw an object on the roof of the Exxon gas station. Fifty glassine bags containing white powdery substance were later discovered on the roof and seized as evidence.
Agents arrested Bollinger in the Exxon parking lot. He had $43, a black knife, a silver knife, a black cellphone and a silver Winchester money clip.
Officers obtained a key to the motel room, where they seized a Tupperware container with a purple lid containing a total of 239 empty glassine packets, some with white residue; a pink plastic container; several scales; a sheet of paper with names and phone numbers; 535 blue glassine packets containing white powder substance; $1,370; a cardboard box marked “Bobby Michele” containing two plastic bags full of black rubber bands; two Ziplock bags of empty glassine packets stamped “THE MELTDOWN”; and a quantity of clear empty plastic bags bound by a black rubber band.
Bollinger had an active warrant out of the Pennsylvania State Parole and was taken into custody.
Lab results showed that the white powder substance collected from the 50 glassine bags was projected to have a net weight of less than 1 gram and contained acetyl fentanyl and fentanyl, while the white powder substance from the 535 blue glassine bags weighed 3 grams and contained acetyl fentanyl and tramadol.
Serfass faces charges on six counts of unlawful delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
She is currently free in lieu of $50,000, 10% bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Feb. 3 before District Judge Eric M. Schrantz of Jim Thorpe.
