Tamaqua recorded a victory in girls basketball, while its swim teams registered a sweep on Tuesday.
Elsewhere, the Palmerton and Northwestern girls, as well as the Weatherly boys, also picked up wins.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Pottsville-Tamaqua
A balanced scoring attack allowed Tamaqua to cruise to a 59-22 Schuylkill League victory over Pottsville.
The Blue Raiders’ McKenna Meckes and Trenyce Wingler tied for game-high honors as both finished with 12 points, while Serena Jones and Sophia Boyle both finished with nine.
The winners, who raced to an early 18-3 lead, also received eight points and eight rebounds from Makenna Kane.
Tamaqua, which improved to 4-2, fell in the JV game by a 54-35 score. Laney Werner had 16 points for the junior Raiders.

Palmerton outscored Salisbury in the fourth quarter to pull out a 36-34 Colonial League victory over Salisbury.
Brianna Moore scored four points in the final frame as the Blue Bombers (2-1) used a 7-3 period to gain the win.
Moore finished with a team-high 12 points, while Raegan Nementh chipped in with eight.
The Falcons received a game-high 14 points from Quinn Wittman.

Paige Sevrain scored a game-high 14 points, including 12 in the first half, for the Tigers (6-0; 4-0). Alexandra Lister contributed 12 points, while Sydney Nyce finished with 10.

The trio of Azahni Simmons, Tiera Hudson and Vatijah Darby all finished with 12 points for the Panthers, who took control of the game with a 14-3 third quarter.

BOYS BASKETBALL
N’umberland Christian-Weatherly
Weatherly ran its winning streak to five games by earning a 66-47 non-league victory over Northumberland Christian.
Scotty Zoscin scored a game-high 20 points for the Wreckers, while Antonio Colecio contributed 18. The winners, now 5-1, also received a double-double from Trevor Loman, who finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Warriors used an 11-0 run at the start of the second half to close within four points, but Weatherly ended the game outscoring its visitors by a 29-14 margin.
The Wreckers also won the JV game, 52-34, behind 16 points from Jayden Eubanks.

In a back-and-forth affair, Southern Lehigh pulled out a 58-55 Colonial League overtime victory over Northwestern.
Daryl Coleman scored nine of his team’s 12 points in the extra period to help the Spartans gain the win. Coleman finished with a team-high 21 points.
The Tigers (3-3; 3-1) received a game-high 28 points from Dylan Witkowski, who drained seven three-pointers, while Cayden Fitch contributed 12.

Kenyo Herrera tallied 11 of his team-high 16 points in the second frame as the Falcons outscored the Bombers by a 21-9 margin to build a sizable halftime lead.
Palmerton (1-4; 1-3) received a team-high 16 points from Kody Kratzer, who now has 995 in his career, while Owen Buck chipped in with 10.

Pleasant Valley held a halftime lead, but Pocono Mountain West stormed back to gain a 49-30 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory.
The Bears, who led 23-18 at the break, received a team-high 12 points from Joel Contreras, while Donald Francois added nine.
Christian Fermin tallied 10 of his 14 points in the third quarter as the Panthers used a 22-2 period to take the lead for good. Michael Lawrence finished with a game-high 15 points for the winners.
The loss dropped PV to 0-2.
