The Jim Thorpe boys and girls both picked up victories in basketball action on Monday.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Jim Thorpe-No. Schuylkill
A huge fourth quarter lifted Jim Thorpe to a 66-59 Schuylkill League victory over North Schuylkill.
Trailing by double digits after three quarters, the Olympians used a 24-5 run in the final frame to grab their first victory of the season.
Kaiden Herron had nine of his game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter to lead Jim Thorpe (1-4, 1-3). Derryl Fisher added 11 points.
Joseph Flail led the Spartans (0-5) with 17 points.

Marian jumped out to a big lead and breezed to a 63-50 Schuylkill League victory over Tri-Valley.
The Colts, who led 18-2 after one quarter, got big games from Dewin Concepcion (21 points) and Brendan Lonergan (20 points).
The Bulldogs’ Kade Deeter and Jeremiah Umbenhauer both had 15 points.
Marian improves to 4-1 overall, while Tri-Valley slips to 1-2.

Tamaqua stayed close to Pottsville in the opening quarter, but once the Tide got rolling they cruised to a 61-30 Schuylkill League victory.
Leading by just two points after the opening quarter, Pottsville used a 17-1 blitz in the second period to take control.
Pottsville’s Jazce Carabello-Snowell led all scorers with 15 points, while Raeff Dicello chipped in with 14 points.
Nate Gregoire led Tamaqua (0-5, 0-4) with eight points.
