State police at Frackville are investigating a theft by deception case that happened between Nov. 19-25 and was reported to police at 12:21 p.m. Dec. 21.

A 72-year-old man from Walker Township, told police someone charged $1,581 in Amazon costs to his credit card.

Police are also investigating a forgery/fraud case in which a Ringtown woman is the victim.

Police said they were called at 4:34 p.m. Dec. 21 to Aristes Road in Union Township where the victim, a 64-year-old woman, reported a check she mailed to make a payment had been forged to reflect an unauthorized increased dollar amount, to which the funds had been debited from her checking account.
