Carbon County Commissioners
The Carbon County Commissioners on Thursday, acted on the following items:
• Approved an agreement with Tu-Way Mobile Communications Inc. of Bethlehem to provide maintenance to the Vesta Phone System and Emergency Services IP Network. The cost of the maintenance is $54,602.53 and is approved under the Statewide Interconnectivity Grant.
• Approved the replacement of an exhaust fan on rooftop unit 2 at the prison by Trane of Wilkes-Barre. The cost is $2,020.
• Approved the reappointment of Carbon Engineering Inc. as the county engineer and accepted the 2021 professional fee schedule with no increase.
• Approved the payments for the second round of COVID-19 Relief Block Grant.
• Ratified the utilization of constables for coverage in all four district court offices to Feb. 28, 2021, at a rate of $13 per hour. Commissioner Chris Lukasevich cast the sole no vote.
• Approved the award of funding of the 2020/2021 Juvenile Probation Services Grant in the amount of $44,584.02 for salary reimbursement of the juvenile court officer for July 1 to June 30, 2021.
• Approved the appointment of AJ Jordan of LANTA/CCCT, as the Carbon County Community Transit voting alternative representative to the Northeastern Pennsylvania Metropolitan Planning Organization for the term ending June 30, 2022.
• Approved a letter of agreement with Zelenkofske Axelrod LLC for financial consulting services for 2021 at a fee not to exceed $87,500.
• Approve a request from the prison warden to accept a proposal from Bill Hoak, radiation safety consultant of Boalsburg, to provide radiation safety officer training for the use of the new NUCTECH body scanner inspection system at a cost of $1,300 paid through the commissary funds.
