Police find fentanyl, gun, after Schuylkill chase

Two Allentown men were jailed after they fled from police in Schuylkill County at 3:43 p.m. Dec. 18, when police uncovered $58,000 worth of fentanyl and a loaded handgun.

Shakier Kingsley, 29, is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, illegal possession of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, conspiracy, fleeing and eluding police, recklessly endangering another person, accidents involving damages to an attended vehicle or property, possession of marijuana and summary traffic offenses.

Carlos Reynoso, 29, is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, illegal possession of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, conspiracy and possession of marijuana.

Both men were committed to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, in lieu of $75,000 bail each.

State police at Schuylkill Havensaid the incident began when they attempted to pull over a Chrysler 200 operated by Kingsley on Route 901 in Barry Township after observing traffic violations. Police said Kingsley failed to yield and a pursuit continued on Route 901 south toward Minersville.

Police said as the Chrysler approached the intersection with Kings Village, it sideswiped an occupied vehicle that was also traveling south on Route 901.

Police said they saw a handgun and suspected drugs being tossed out of the car by the passenger, Reynoso, as the pursuit continued toward Cressona.

They said the car continued south on Route 61 and sideswiped a second vehicle, before spike strips and a Precision Immobilization Technique were utilized to successfully stop the fleeing vehicle. The two suspects were taken into custody without further incident, police said.

Police searched the area and found a loaded handgun and two bags containing approximately 580 grams of suspected fentanyl.
