Warren Burnard of Walnutport was elected chairman of the Palmerton Hospital Board of Trustees at the board’s annual corporate meeting held recently.

Burnard, who is the plant manager of Durkee-French Foods in Bethlehem, has been serving as vice chairman of the board.

He replaces John Hall of West Bowmans, who served as chairman since 1988.

Salvatore Somma of Slatington, a nuclear engineer for the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company, was elected vice chairman. Elected to serve second terms were Secretary Donald Browne of Palmerton and Treasurer Lamar Steigerwalt of Ashfield.
