A California tractor trailer driver was injured when the rig crashed and overturned on the on-ramp of Interstate 81 in Kline Township at 12:55 p.m. Dec. 12.

State police at the Frackville barracks said Singh Gagamdee, 34, of Ceres, was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton, by the McAdoo Fire Company Ambulance Association. The severity of his injuries is not known, police said.

He was driving a 2021 Freightliner southbound on the ramp near McAdoo when it traveled off the west berm, struck the guide rail, went southwest along the berm and overturned on its right side.

Police said the area was closed to traffic for about two hours while the vehicle could be towed from the scene.

Gagamdee was cited for the incident.
