Carbon County officials have ratified a disaster emergency from the snowstorm on Wednesday.
On Thursday, the commissioners approved the declaration during their weekly meeting, which was held through Zoom.
Commissioners’ Chairman Wayne Nothstein said that the declaration is helpful in the event a federal disaster declaration is signed and funding becomes available.
“It helps us get that funding,” he said.
A nor’easter that moved through our region Wednesday afternoon dropped approximately a foot of snow in most towns.
Carbon County’s offices were closed Thursday as a result of the storm.
