The Mahoning Valley Volunteer Fire Company is getting an upgrade.
Bids for the project are due to the township office by 3 p.m. Jan. 29 and are scheduled to be opened that day at 3:15 p.m.
Action on the bid is scheduled to be taken at the Mahoning Township Board of Supervisors meeting at 6 p.m. Feb. 10.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 3 p.m. Jan. 15 at the Mahoning Valley Volunteer Fire Company, 2358 Mahoning Drive West Lehighton.
Fire Chief Mark Ebbert said the project will consist of redoing the fire company’s floor, social hall and kitchen.
Ebbert said the social hall floor is the original floor and had been the garage floor that had been used to house the apparatus.
He added that the kitchen appliances are fairly old as well.
The fire company received a Local Share Assessment grant in the amount of $66,319 last year.
