Driver escapes injuries in interstate crash

Brian R. Thomas, 37, of Mountain Top, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 8:36 p.m. Dec. 9 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks said he was driving a 2007 Honda Civic westbound when it traveled into the right lane of traffic and encountered snow.

Police said he overcompensated in an effort to get out of the snow, causing him to lose control. The vehicle traveled across the left lane and struck a tree before rolling over two times, coming to rest on its wheels.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Police said Thomas was cited.
