A fifth full-time police officer, a part-time patrolman and a parking meter attendant have been hired in Slatington, according to Police Chief Ted Kistler.
Richard Dorward, 33, of Schnecksville, will begin working full time in the department effective Jan. 2. A graduate of the Allentown Police Academy, he worked in that capacity for the borough from 1975-80 before resigning, and began working part-time in Slatington last year.
The part-time patrol officer hired is Richard Zeller, 40, of Allentown, who is also a graduate of the academy and who worked part-time with the Police Reserve in that City.
The meter maid is Linda Nails, 29, of Slatington, who will also serve as a substitute school crossing guard.
