The Times News area was well represented on the 2020 Schuylkill League Boys Soccer All-Star team.

Leading the way was Jim Thorpe with six selections, including five first-team picks in Division 1. Also in Division 1, Tamaqua had two first-team and two second-team selections, while Lehighton placed one player on the first team and three on the second team.

In Division 2, Weatherly had a pair of first-team selections and three second-team picks.

The Olympians’ were represented on the first team by forward Chris Condly, midfielder Jack Morris, defenders Georgiy Sakharov and TJ Dudak, and goalie Jacob Geiser. Tamaqua first-team selections were forward Michael Schlanta and midfielder Tyler Steigerwalt. Lehighton’s Carter Strauss was a first-team selection at midifeld.

Weatherly players earning first-team honors were forward Tyler Veasie and defender Luke Derr.

Area players on the Division 1 second team were Jim Thorpe’s Marc Waslesyn (midfield); Tamaqua’s Luke Verta; and Lehighton’s Logan Lucas (forward), Matt Sofranko (midfield) and Eldin Cokrlija (defense).

Making the Division 2 second team were Weatherly’s Antonio Colecio (midfield), Trevor Lowman (midfield) and Frankie Willis (goalie).
