L.F. Johnson, president of the New Jersey Zinc Company, presented a check for $50,000 to Dr. R. Batchelor, honorary chairman of the fundraising committee for the Palmerton Hospital Building Fund during a meeting of the hospital’s board of trustees.

L.C. Copeland, speaking for the trustees, thanked the officers of the company for their continued interest and support. He noted commitments to the building fund are nearing the $700,000 mark, with over 60 percent of this amount having been received to date.

The new $2,125,000 building is about 10 percent complete, Copeland said.
