State police at Fern Ridge report incidents

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following incidents:

• On Nov. 13 at 6:23 a.m. troopers received a call for a burglar alarm activation at St. Luke’s Cardiology Associates, located at 1510 Fawn Valley Drive, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. An investigation found the property to be secure and that the incident constituted the sixth false alarm at the premises within a 12-month consecutive period. The property owner was cited for false alarms.

• On Nov. 15 at 9:57 a.m. a 2008 Honda Accord was stopped along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township eastbound for going 97 mph in a 70 mph zone. At the stop troopers detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The driver was asked about the odor and admitted his passenger, Yousef Kifayeh, 24, of Brooklyn, New York, had been concealing marijuana in the glove box of the vehicle. He gave troopers consent to search the vehicle.

Police seized 10 grams of suspected marijuana from the glove box. Drug charges were filed against Kifayeh.

• On Nov. 12 at 8:37 p.m. troopers responded to a residence along Fox Hill Road in Albrightsville, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County for an argument. As a result a 30-year-old woman from Albrightsville, who troopers declined to identify, was cited for disorderly conduct.

• On Nov. 14 at 6:29 p.m. troopers were dispatched to the American Legion, located at Fairgrounds Road and Route 209, in Chestnuthill Township, for a reported domestic incident. During the investigation it was determined that a 37-year-old woman from Slatington, who troopers declined to identify, struck a 36-year-old man from Whitehall, in the face causing minor injuries. She was cited for harassment, physical contact.

• On Nov. 16 at 10:14 p.m. a traffic stop of a 2002 Mazda Tribute occurred along Route 115 at Hamilton Lane, in Tunkhannock Township, for a vehicle code violation. At the stop the driver, a 24-year-old man from Blakeslee, who troopers declined to identify, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was taken into custody and taken for a blood draw. The DUI charge is pending test results.

• Two Carbon County neighbors have been cited following a dispute.

State police at Fern Ridge were dispatched to Tamarack Terrace in Penn Forest Township, on Nov. 18 at 3:56 p.m. for a dispute between two neighbors. Both claimed the other made threats against them and demanded charges be filed, troopers said.

As a result Roy Anthony Gomez, 42, and Camille Osborne, 49, both of Albrightsville, were issued citations for harassment, no legitimate purpose.
