State Police at Fern Ridge report on crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers on Monroe County roadways.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 6:26 a.m. on Nov. 28 along Sugar Hollow Road, near State Road, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Alysha A. DePaul, 26, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2019 Nissan Rogue northeast and traveling too fast for conditions when her vehicle left the road and traveled up an embankment and overturned onto the roadway. DePaul was not injured but the vehicle was towed.

• On Nov. 27 at 9:46 p.m. a crash was reported along Frantz Road in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Karissa L. Hughes, 28, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2012 Honda CRV southbound and attempting to negotiate a left curve in the road when she lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle traveled 250 through a lawn at 542 Frantz Road, causing damage to the property. It continued onto the property at 546 Frantz Road, where it damaged five medium bushes. After that impact the vehicle continued through the lawn at 542 Frantz Road, for 50 feet before striking a medium sized shed, where it came to rest.

Hughes was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed.

She was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.

• On Nov. 25 at 1:29 p.m. troopers investigated a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Neola Road at Sherwood Forest Road, in Jackson Township. Troopers said Garhett M. Gibson, 20, and James B. Smith, 47, both of Stroudsburg, were northbound on Neola Road. Smith, driving a 2008 Ford F350 PennDOT warning vehicle, was behind a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation tractor which was trimming brush along the road. Gibson, driving a 2020 Subaru Impreza, and the truck were in a collision as Smith attempted to negotiate a blind curve in the road.

No one was injured.
