State Police at Fern Ridge

State police at Fern Ridge gave details on the following cases:

• Kelly Cappello, 42, of Effort, is facing charges of harassment by communications. Police said she continually sent unwanted messages via social media and texting to the victim in the case, a 37-year-old man from Penn Forest Township, Albrightsville.

• A 35-year-old Kunkletown man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop made by police at 8:41 p.m. Nov. 25 at the intersection of Route 534 and Towamensing Trails Road in Penn Forest Township.

Police said they stopped the 2004 Dodge Chrysler and learned the man was under the influence of alcohol. They transported him to the barracks for chemical testing. Police have not released his name.

• Police are investigating a theft in which a resident of Sky High Drive, Jackson Township, Monroe County, is the victim. It was reported to police at 9:02 a.m. Nov. 8.

Police said the victim’s vehicle was stolen and the suspect used the victim’s State Support Card in the amount of $4,000, opened a Premier Credit Card in the victim’s name and utilized the victim’s unemployment card.

Police said the victim’s vehicle was later discovered parked behind the residence, not visible from the roadway.
