The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of 12 a.m. Monday there were 4,268 new COVID-19 cases, in addition to 5,529 new cases reported Sunday, for a two-day total of 9,797 additional positive cases.
The statewide total is now 361,464.
There are 4,405 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Pennsylvania. Of that number, 918 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.
The trend in the 14-day moving average of number of hospitalized patients per day has increased by nearly 3,000 since the end of September.
Statewide percent positivity for the week of Nov. 20-26 stood at 11.7%.
Local numbers
Carbon County is reporting 1,336 cases, an increase of 37 since Saturday. Three more deaths were reported for a total of 52.
In Lehigh County, there are 11,512 cases, an increase of 233 since Saturday. Deaths remain at 382.
Luzerne County has 9,760 cases, 325 more over the 2-day reporting period. Deaths are now at 273, an increase of six over the two-day period.
Monroe County has 3,413, an increase of 70. Two more deaths were reported for a total of 143.
In Northampton County, there are 9,104 cases, an increase of 201. One more death has been reported for a total of 333.
Schuylkill County has 4,126 cases, an uptick of 112. Five more deaths are attributed to COVID-19, bringing the total to 174.
