Lehighton Postmaster Phil Marousi swore in three new postmasters of the Indiantown Post Office at Shull-David Elementary School.

The postmasters are Jennell Lester, Bethany Roberts and Alexa Harleman, who will share responsibilities of watching over the staff and assuring mail will get delivered to the newly created post office at the school.

The students are participating in the WEE Deliver Program of the Postal Service, which encourages students to write letters and read in an effort to stamp out illiteracy.

About 50 fourth-grade students are participating in the program as “postal employees.”
